De Ce Jour

with soul comes luxury

De Ce Jour is a sustainable beauty distribution company.

Over the best part of a decade we have successfully brought several specialist brands to the Taiwan market while maintaining a focus on our core values to ensure that we only source the most sustainable and high-quality products.

We take pride in our ability to leverage both our international and local exposure. With a keen eye for detail, we specialise in translating complex and foreign concepts into simple and engaging solutions for the local market that capture the essence of a brand. This helps to ensure strong brand alignment while incorporating the necessary marketing and sales focus to allow each brand to flourish in Taiwan’s unique ecosystem.

The brands with whom we collaborate are typically innovative and aiming to disrupt current assumptions about the compromises that need to be made to maintain high quality products all while making sure to minimise the environmental impact. Each brand has a different take and different priorities but they share a passion to make the world a better place.

If you share our hope of improving environment, body and mind we welcome you to join us on our journey. Check our blog for some deep dives into topics that are close to our heart and, if you’d like to contribute, please let us know!

Founder & CEO
Louise Robertson

Louise grew up in the hubbub of the economic miracle that was Taiwan in the 1980s and the 1990s. A country that was developing at breakneck speed with a primary focus on making money – fast. She found it common to have sensory overload both at home and school and presumed that everyone was similarly struggling. However, she also got drawn into music in a way that many of her contemporaries did not understand – she found this was her safe haven in her times of need and would often get lost in her playing for hours on end.

It was only relatively recently that she discovered that she is an extreme HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), which involves processing sensory data more deeply and thoroughly than the average person, Louise talked about this in one of her blogs. This helped explain her childhood experiences and many of the life and career decisions she made before she knew what HSP was. It also helped explain her sensitivity to sounds, sights and smells which many around her either didn’t notice or didn’t understand why she had the reactions she had.

Having originally focused on Economics at University followed by 4 years of Quantitative and Qualitative research for Taiwan’s National Science Council, Louise decided to move to France to continue her studies. It was there, in the city of Lille, that Louise began to develop her appreciation of the very different European approaches to both business and also to life in general. This was also a time that she really started to value the importance of her surroundings realising how this can affect one both mentally and physically.

She returned to Taipei in 2010 re-energised and moved away from academia into the beauty industry where she found her passion. She set up De Ce Jour in 2015. Since then her voyage of discovery has accelerated as she has sought to understand the compromises that need to be made to live a heathy, sustainable life. She is still learning and enjoys hearing from others as well as sharing her experiences so that, together, we can make the world a better place.
